Tamil Nadu police officers warned against online gambling. Here's why:

• The State Police Headquarters recently admitted that many in the Police Department — particularly those in Armed Reserve Police Force — gamble online.

• It has issued a circular warning police personnel to stay away from gambling or face a jail term up to six months.

• The statutory warning from the Department has come after TN banned online gambling.

• The circular noted that such games were designed in a way that only those playing the games made money. “It is an illusion. Lots of people and their families are already suffering due to online gambling and all police personnel should be advised not to indulge in the game,” it stated.
