“We do not want any posts like MLA, MP or even a that of councilor and we want to be ordinary cadre working for you, but we want you to become the Chief Minister and let the change take place with you in the state as you would definitely be a Chief Minister for poor,” said mega wall posters pasted across Tiruchy city on Wednesday.

According to the fans, the decision is still under consideration and they have been waiting for the moment when Rajinikanth is announcing his Rajini Makkal Mandram into a pure political party that would face elections. “We have been waiting for the announcement of our thalaivar about contesting in the elections. He is the one who can bring change in the state as he has the utmost love for the people of Tamil Nadu who always want to do something good to the people and so we want him to take the ‘decision,’ said, Royal Raju, the mandram’s Tiruchy Joint Secretary.

While another staunch fan of Rajini, S Arun from Thiruvanaikoil said, Rajinikanth would certainly contest in the elections. “Thalaivar already hinted that the enemies should not come to know what we are doing. Only 60 days is enough for us to create a record and this is the information he gave us recently and so he will definitely make the decision once the elections approach and face it while the other political parties would have butterflies in their bellies,” Arun said quoting the statement of Rajinikanth.

At this juncture, Thiruvadanai MLA and actor Karunas urged Rajinikanth to stay away from politics and take rest as the Superstar has less knowledge about politics. “He is the superstar known globally and he should not come down to politics where he may have to face insults and humiliations and lose his happiness. Let him spend his life happily,” Karunas told reporters in Pudukkottai.

Meanwhile, the general secretary of Manithaneya Jananaayaka Katchi and Nagapattinam MLA Thamimum Ansari echoed Karunas sentiments. While speaking to the reporters in Nagapattinam, he said that Rajinikanth cannot withstand the politics in Tamil Nadu as he has to compromise on many things.

“He is a pure religious person. To maintain dignity, the Superstar should stay away from politics,” Ansari stressed.
