Govt students’ list for 7.5 per cent quota soon

With the implementation of the 7.5 per cent reservation for government school students in medical admissions, the Chief Education Officers of respective districts have been instructed to ensure that government school candidates who qualified for NEET and repeat candidates from previous years apply for the UG medical admissions.

 As many as 828 government school students including NEET qualified repeaters from previous years, and government school students who cleared NEET this year, including those who attended coaching classes and those who did not attend this year, have been asked to apply for the MBBS admissions this year.

 A total of 10 government school students from 2017-18 repeat batch, who scored between 646-118 marks and 41 students from 2018-18 repeat batch who scored between 644-114 marks have been instructed to apply for the UG medical admissions.

 In the 2019-20 academic year, a total of 747 government school students who had attended NEET coaching arranged by the government and scored between 423-113 marks will also be eligible to apply for admissions. Also, 30 government school students who did not attend government coaching for NEET and scored between 542-114 marks in 2019-2020 are likely to be benefitted under the 7.5 per cent quota this year.

 As per senior officials from the Directorate of Medical Education, the government school students from previous years who could not get admission will benefit from the reservation this year. However, the cut-off and number of seats available for the same will be fixed.
