101 arrests made so far in PM Kisan scheme scam: CB-CID

Informing the developments in PM Kisan scheme scam investigation, the CB-CID said that it has made 101 arrests so far and 100 officers have been suspended.

Further, a team is being deputed to enquire in the villages to know whether the scam happened. The team consists of revenue and agricultural officials.

The amount recovered so far is Rs 105 crores.

Scam emerged to the surface on discovery of bogus accounts who don't fulfil the criteria of farmers as specified in the scheme.

Districts like Cuddalore, Kallakurichi and Trichy were initially put on the spot for misappropriation of funds.

Then Thiruvannamalai, Vellore and many other districts followed the suit.

Bogus beneficiaries over a year have been bilking the annual support funds of Rs 6000 which is transferred to farmers in three installments of Rs 2000.
