A few days ago, the dramatic wedding of the ruling AIADMK MLA from Thiyagadurg of Kallakuruchi constituency, A. Prabhu and his lady love S.Soundarya created a sensation.
MLA Prabhu had married college student S Soundarya on Monday, despite stiff resistance from the girl's side. The girl's father S. Swaminathan, a local temple priest alleged that his daughter was abducted and he had filed a habeas corpus petition in the Madras HC.
Upon hearing the petition, the Madras HC pronounced its verdict today. The Madras HC dismissed the allegations mentioned in the habeas corpus petition thereby allowing Soundarya to go with her husband, MLA A Prabhu.
Soundarya, who appeared in person for the hearing today, wasn't convinced by her father's plea and requested the judges to live with her husband rather. She also denied the allegations raised by her father about her kidnap. She further said that their marriage happened upon mutual consensus.
Meanwhile, Mr Swaminathan had accused the MLA of entering into a relationship with his daughter while she was still a minor and have lured her under the pretext of a wedding.
