Tamil Nadu records 5,500+ Covid-19 cases in a single day

Tamil Nadu has registered 5,688 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, according to the state's health department. The total tally in the state has increased to 6,03,290.

The state recorded 66 Covid-19 fatalities today. The overall death toll has increased to 9,586 in Tamil Nadu. 

Chennai city saw 1,289 fresh Covid cases today, while other districts registered 4,399 new infections.

Chennai is seeing 1000+ cases in the past few days after a brief gap, sending a wave of scare to the city dwellers.
