TN's policy against UGC guidelines, AICTE maintains its stance on arrear exam
The technical education body reiterated that clearing all the exams is imperative to obtain the degree certificate.
Chennai
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) expressed its opinion to the petition Anna University's former Vice Chancellor cum lawyer E. Balagurusamy had lodged against the Tamil Nadu government in Madras High Court.
AICTE without budging has maintained its previous stance that arrear exam is non-negotiable.
It said in its answer that Tamil Nadu and Anna University on arrear exams goes against the UGC guidelines.
The technical education body reiterated that clearing all the exams is imperative to get the degree certificate.
AICTE already had warned stripping Anna University's licence if it follows the August 26 announcement of TN govt of promoting students with arrears (except final year) who had paid the exam fee for April-May 2020 arrear examminations.
