Government keen on enhancing life of differently abled, says Valarmathi
In order to ensure the differently abled to lead an economical independent life, the state government has been providing financial support with subsidy and a fund of Rs 20 lakh has been allotted for subsidy for 2020-21, said the minister S Valarmathi here on Saturday.

Distributing the welfare assistance to as many as 180 differently abled beneficiaries, the minister said, the state government is very particular to develop the livelihood of the difabled and so the subsidy of Rs 10,000 has been increased to Rs 25,000 for those who avail loan under self-employment scheme. “The Chief Minister is very keen on enhancing the life of difabled and wants to ensure them to be economically independent,” the minister said. She also said that the marriage assistance for those who marry difabled are distributed on the basis of 50 per cent as cheque and 50 per cent fund as National Savings Certificate and gold coins are distributed. “So far 425 difabled persons had got the monetary under marriage assistance scheme,” she said. Meanwhile, she said that the government had allocated a fund of Rs 20 lakh as subsidy for differently abled persons from Tiruchy to be utilisd in the year 2020-21.
