Don’t underestimate people’s sentiments: DMK prez to PM
DMK president MK Stalin on Thursday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to underestimate the sentiments of the state people and therefore make a comprehensive assessment of the Corona failure of the AIADMK regime.

Stalin also asked Prime Minister to commission a secret probe of the corona failure and corruption of the AIADMK regime by using his intelligence agencies.
Taking exception to the PM’s appreciation of the Corona handling of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami led-AIADMK regime during a meeting with the chief ministers on Tuesday, Stalin said, “It is neither surprising nor shocking that the PM has appreciated the AIADMK for controlling virus spread and reducing the rate of spread of infection when it has actually failed in Corona prevention. (I am) only led to think that he (PM) has some political compulsion. It is worrisome as to why the PM is under compulsion to appreciate a government whose Chief Minister had said that only god knows when Corona infections would reduce.”
Suggesting that PM could order a secret probe understand the corona failure and corruptions of the AIADMK regime during the lockdown, Stalin asked the PM to broaden his view beyond the “narrow alliance” party consideration and learn about the impact of pandemic on the state people.
Giving a district-wise break up of Corona infections, Stalin, in a statement, said that about 27 of the 37 districts were in the grip of Corona and daily infections in the state have not fallen below 5,000 daily during the last 64 days. “If the PM gives a certificate of appreciation when the districts were so severely affected, is the state misrepresenting facts and tweaking statistics? A genuine question has arisen in the minds of people as to whether the PM, who is the guardian of the country, was in a position to contribute to the safety of the corrupt AIADMK regime which has failed in handling the Corona crisis.”
“If the BJP led NDA regime as “no data available” regime, the AIADMK regime here is “data concealing regime,” the DMK president said, adding that the reply given to DMK MP Tiruchi Siva in the Rajya Sabha was proof of the Centre misrepresenting facts vis-à-vis COVID-19. While the Union Health Ministry has put the number of tests till September 15 in TN at 10.08 lakhs, the state govt bulletin of the day has claimed that 11.16 lakh people were tested in the state till then, wondering if the PM was informed as to why such a discrepancy had happened even?
