Will not comment on party’s CM candidate, says Revenue Minister RB Udhayakumar

“The AIADMK leaders OPS and EPS have given a gag order for the state ministers not to comment on the chief ministerial candidate issue. It is only the media that is creating a sensation on the issue, both EPS and OPS are bonded like Ram-Laxman. The ruling party is gearing up for the elections and youngsters will be given more responsibility of handling the booth committees, the minister said.

Commenting on the flood mitigation works taken up in the state, Udhayakumar who also holds the portfolio of state disaster management authority said that the government has completed the pre-monsoon works.

District Collectors have already prepared a vulnerable map comprising flood-prone zones and low-lying areas. Based on the instruction of Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary has conducted a monsoon review meeting in this regard, Udhayakumar said.

In a strange politically loaded request, Udayakumar also asked DMK leader MK Stalin to “properly” train and tute his son Udhayanidhi Stalin in politics, so that the ambitious son is politically matured while addressing public meetings.

“Udhay’s public speeches are derogatory against the AIADMK. This is not an order but a request to a budding politician. We are from Madurai known for rhetoric bold speech, but in AIADMK we maintain decorum and AIADMK practices army like discipline. Udhay’s speech lacks political maturity and the AIADMK cadres will always not be silent over such comments.

Stalin should consider me as his brother and take his piece of advice so that there is a better political future his family and his son,” Udayakumar said in a cynical tone.

When asked to comment about the politically awaited release of AMMK leader VK Sasikala and the recent comment of AIADMK MP Anwar Rajaa stating that Sasikala’s release will create a political impact, Udhayakumar denied comments.

“I am not commenting as you (media) will misinterpret my views,” Udhayakumar who was once a strong supporter of Sasikala said.
