Tamil Nadu Transport Minister MR Vijayabhaskar tests positive for Covid-19

With at least six MLAs of AIADMK having tested positive for the novel coronavirus so far, Tamil Nadu transport minister MR Vijayabhaskar was also tested positive on Tuesday.

Agency reports confirmed that MR Vijayabhaskar along with wife and daughter were tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday and has been admitted in Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, for further treatment.

Meanwhile DMK MLA and former TamilNadu Transport Minister V. Senthil Balaji was also tested positive for COVID-19 and is admitted in a private hospital in Trichy.

While the state reported 5709 new cases on Tuesday, Chennai alone recorded 1,182 cases while cases continued to surge in its neighbouring districts of Chengalpattu (344 cases) and Kancheepuram (249).
