COVID-19: Tamil Nadu records 5,950 fresh cases, 125 fatalities reported

Tamil Nadu has reported 5,950 fresh Coronavirus cases on Sunday, according to the bulletin of the state's health department. The total infected numbers have reached 3,38,055 in the state now.Â
The state saw 125 Covid-19 fatalities in a single day. The total number of death toll stands at 5,766.Â
Chennai recorded 1,196 new cases today. The city is seeing a mild rise in Covid cases in the past two days after a brief gap. Last week Chennai saw less than 1000 cases per day. However, the count is seeing an increase again. The other districts have registered 4,754 new covid cases in the past 24 hours.Â
Thiruvallur saw 488 new covid-19 cases today. Chengalpet registered 436 fresh infections, while Kancheepuram detected 307 covid cases. On the positive side, 6,019 patients have been discharged from various hospitals in the state following covid treatment. The overall active cases in TN now stands at 54,019.Â
