“For the time being, we have already cancelled the board exam for these standards. This will also be reviewed again by the expert committee,” the Minister said.

Stating that there was no timeframe given by the Centre to the state in connection with implementing the NEP, the Minister said the government would look into all the pros and cons before taking a decision.

To a query on the declaration of Class 10 results, Sengottaiyan said that the results will be published very soon. “Currently, the work is going on and the results will be declared shortly,” he added.

Pointing out that the admissions in government schools will also begin soon, he said the Chief Minister will be officially announcing it on Monday.

The Minister said the government has set up a total 6,019 high-tech labs in government schools with internet connections where students could go with their laptops for uploading textbooks. “In addition to this, the government had tied up with private channels to bring various classroom programmes for the students,” he said adding that thousands of students will be benefited by it.
