Theni and Tirunelveli record surge in COVID-19 infections

The Tirunelveli district saw 228 new cases in the past 12 hours, with total tally reaching 3,079.  While there are 225 patients still under corona treatment, the cured cases tally went up to 1,614.

Meanwhile, Theni district also crossed the 3K mark, having 3,047 infected cases. Around 188 new cases reported in the district, of which 4 were Government doctors who were attending the Covid Patients.

Although, there are 1,564 patients under isolation, the discharge went upto 1,428, according to the State Health bulletin.

The Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday recorded 4,965 new cases of COVID 19 and 75 people have succumbed to the disease. With Tuesday’s tally, the State has surpassed 1.8 lakh cases (1,80,643).
