Issuing a clarion call to the majority OBCs and SC/STs in the country to fight for their rights, Stalin cited RTI replies suggesting that only 12% of OBCs have secured medial admission, against the guaranteed 27% , and said the ruling BJP has chalked out plans to prevent the growth of OBCs every coming year.

Comparing the reservation quantum of the Centre and Tamil Nadu, Stalin described it as a conspiracy to sound “death knell to social justice” and wondered if the BJP, which claims to speak for Hindus, does not see Dalits and OBCs as Hindus?

“Are they (OBCs and Dalits) enemies of Hinduism? If the BJP truly works for Hindus, as it claims, the party and the Prime Minister should ensure reservation in education and jobs for OBCs and Dalits,” Stalin who is also the Leader of Opposition said.

Attributing the death of medical aspirant Anitha and others to denial of social justice, Stalin said the ruling AIADMK, which bears the name of ‘Anna’ and ‘Dravidam’ in its party name, should raise an ideological outcry against the denial of social justice.

Asserting that communal flare ups and anti-social diversionary dramas would be orchestrated in Tamil Nadu to prevent unity among Tamils whenever reservation was threatened, Stalin said the OBCs and SC/STs should unite not just for their “education and livelihood” right, but the right to access power.

“It is also the right to participate in power. A constitutionally guaranteed right the BJP tries to snatch away,” he remarked.

It was worrisome and shocking that socially dominant sections and people in power were deterring the growth of people who were gradually developing in the last 50 years after being denied education for thousands of years.
