Tamil Nadu Coronavirus cases marginally falls short of 5K on Saturday

Upticking of Covid positive cases hasn't yet abated in the state as it recorded 4,807 positive cases on Saturday.

Respite from Chennai's gradual improvement is cut short by rising cases in other districts.

Many districts have shown alarming daily positive cases. Only a few districts showed 100 plus positive cases. Now over a dozen districts are reporting such foreboding numbers on a daily basis.

Chennai recorded 1,209 positive cases though greatly reduced it is still the highest followed by Thiruvallur (370), Chengalpattu (323).

Thirupathur (3) recorded the lowest.

On the bright side 3,049 have been discharged with the total standing at 1,13,856.

The fatalities today stands at 88 adding up to the total 2,403.

The active cases including isolation stands at 49,452. The grand total of positive cases as on 18/07 is 1,65,714.
