Covid-19: Positive cases in Madurai crosses 8000 mark

With each passing day Tamil Nadu is witnessing an increase of Covid-19 infections. The number of discharged patients of the disease has also seen an increase. Chennai continues to see an increase in the cases of Covid-19 infections, compared to other districts.

Besides Chennai, Chengalpattu, Thiruvallur, Madurai, Kanchipuram, Thiruvannamalai and Vellore districts have seen a jump in the cases of fresh infections of the disease.

The southern district of Madurai which had a record of 7,858 cases of Covid-19 as of yesterday has registered fresh 245 cases and its tally has mounted to 8,103 as of the morning of 18 July. This has put the district of Madurai in third position in Tamil Nadu in the tally of Covid-19 infections.

A total of 4,677 persons have have been discharged from the hospitals after overcoming the disease and 138 have lost their lives so far.
