While 14,386 boys of the 17,405 who appeared passed with a total percentage of 82.65, girls who wrote the exam numbered 21,052 of whom 19,233 passed recording a pass percentage of 91.36, Chief Education Officer S Mars revealed.
This pushed the district’s ranking from 32nd last year to 28th this year, he said and added this year pass percentage was 1.95 per cent more than last year’s 84.47 per cent.
Government schools in the district scored a pass percentage of 82.38 which was 3.07 per cent more than last year’s 79.31, he added.
While matriculation schools had a pass percentage of 97.27 aided schools recorded 88.93 per cent he said adding that 107 of the 131 differently-abled candidates who attempted the exam passed. Their pass percentage was 81.67, he stated.
