It has been more than four months since the CM undertook district-wise tours. During his visits, the CM will also meet party functionaries and expedite party strengthening works, AIADMK headquarters sources said.

According to party sources, the CM on Wednesday visited Krishnagiri district and on Friday will visit Erode. Then on July 25 and 26, he will tour Coimbatore and Tiruchy. There are also plans to include a few more districts by next month, sources said.

In the past two months, 90 per cent of the projects were inaugurated through video conferencing and from Wednesday he has resumed inaugurating schemes by visiting the respective regions itself.

Though the CM has been frequenting Salem from Chennai, now more districts are to be covered in the next two months, sources said adding deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam had also scheduled visits to his native Theni and neighbouring districts. Both the leaders are working on new district secretaries list.

Meanwhile, a five-member AIADMK committee, which includes senior ministers and party joint convenors, has started the process of reclassifying party townships and village panchayats.

The new posts are likely to be created by the end of this month and the party will provide new opportunities for the workers to expedite poll works.

Already the expansion of AIADMK IT wing has taken up, sources said.
