Stating that the CM has transferred the case to CBI owing to pressure from people, politicians and media, Stalin, in a series of tweets, wondered if the cops responsible could roam freely if the government had the political courage to render justice. “If the government really intends to deliver justice to the family of the deceased father and son, it should accede to the request of the family, file case under section 302 (murder) and arrest the sub inspector and others responsible for the death.” Referring to the reported death of auto driver Kumaresan of Veerakeralampudur in Tenkasi, who was taken for inquiry by the police, Stalin called it the fourth death in a week and asked what was the CM doing after giving the state to the police? Joining the issue with her brother and party president, Thoothukudi MP Kanimozhi said, “CM says deaths were due to breathlessness. Now, his Minister questions whether these are “lockup deaths,” referring to the statement of Minister Kadambur Raju that Sathankulam deaths were not custodial deaths.
