The submission was made before a division bench comprising Justice R Subbiah and Justice Krishnan Ramasamy in response to a public interest litigation moved by Advocate M Karpagam, seeking transparency in the donations received and disclosure of every single detail related to receipts and expenses.

She said while the website revealed during March 20.47 crore had been received, the media was informed that Rs 306 crore has been received.

However, CMPRF treasurer PA Parimala Chelvi, in the counter, submitted that the CMPRF portal was developed and maintained by National Informatics Centre (NIC) and steps are being taken to collaborate with NIC to disclose all information concerning the funds received not only as cheques but also through payment gateways like Google Pay, Amazon Pay, Paytm, MobiKwik, PhonePe and UPI.

“The government has been transparent in disclosing donations made by the public, corporates and philanthropists and the Chief Minister has regularly issued press releases indicating individual contributions of more than Rs 10 lakh,” the counter said. The bench on recording the submission posted the plea to June 30.
