COVID-19: 44 die in a day in Tamil Nadu, 11 without comorbidities
Tamil Nadu on Monday reported 1,843 cases of fresh coronavirus infections, taking the total tally to 46,504, the state Health Department said.

Chennai saw the highest number of COVID-19 infections at 1,257 taking the total tally to 33,244 and is followed by Chengalpattu (3,005), Tiruvallur (1,922), Kancheepuram (751), Thiruvannamalai (701) and Cuddalore (560).
44 patients succumbed to coronavirus on Monday alone, increasing the state's death toll to 479.
The statement said 797 patients were discharged from various hospitals, taking the total to 25,344. The total number of active cases in Tamil Nadu now stands at 20,678.
A total of 18,403 samples were tested over the past 24 hours, which now total over 7.29 lakh.
The number of infected children in the age group 0-12 went up to 2,362.
