Three more superfast special trains would be operated within Tamil Nadu from June 12.

The Railway Board has approved operation of fully reserved superfast special trains, two each connecting Trichy to Chengalpattu and one from Arakkonam to Coimbatore.

Last week, DT Next had reported that the three trains were proposed to the board by the zone based on the request of the State government.

Train no 02606/02605 intercity special will leave Trichy at 7 AM and reach Chengalpattu at 11.30 AM. The train comprising three AC chair cars, 13 non-AC chair cars and three general second class sitting coaches will start from Chengalpattu at 16.45hrs and reach Trichy at 21.05hrs daily. Trichy-Chengalpattu superfast express will stop at Ariyalur, Villupuram and Melmaruvathur.

Train no 02675 comprising two AC chair cars, 14 non-AC chair cars and five general second class sitting coaches will leave Arakkonam at 7 AM and reach Coimbatore at 2.05 PM, while train no 02676 will leave Coimbatore at 3.15 PM and reach Arakkonam at 10 PM daily. Coimbatore-Arakkonam intercity superfast express will stop at Tirupur, Erode, Sale, Jolarpettai and Katpadi stations.

Train no 06795 will start from Chengalpattu at 2 PM and reach Trichy at 8.10 PM daily. Train no 06796 running in the opposite direction will depart from Trichy at 6.30 AM and reach Chengalpattu at 12.40 PM, stated the Southern Railway (SR) on Tuesday. Advance reservation for the three trains will open at 8 AM on Wednesday.
