Tamil Nadu extends lockdown till June 30: All you need to know
Public transport in certain regions will be allowed from June 1 with reduced services. The transport services will not resume in high Covid-19 affected districts like Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpet and Kanchipuram.
The Tamil Nadu government has extended the state lockdown till June 30, according to recent reports.
However, the restrictions on buses, metro, suburban rails and religious places will still remain.
The government stated that public transport in certain regions will be allowed from June 1 with reduced services. The transport services will not resume in high Covid-19 affected districts like Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpet and Kanchipuram.
Restrictions still remain on religious gatherings and religious group meetings.
Restrictions to open theaters, malls and gyms would continue.
According to government report, e-pass is not necessary hereafter to travel in public transports inside districts. However, e-pass is mandatory for inter-state and inter-zone travels.
Tour and travel to holiday spots like Nilgiri and Kodaikanal are prohibited.
Tea shops and restaurants are allowed to open from June 8, with 50% of customers.
All private companies (excluding Covid-19 containment zones) are allowed to open and work with 100% employees.
Textile shops, showrooms and jewellery shops are allowed to open with 50% employees.
Restrictions to open educational institutions like schools, colleges, universities and research institutes still continue.
Auto rickshaws are allowed with two passengers apart from the driver.
Beauty parlors and salon shall open with Non-AC facilities.
Tasmac is allowed to function from 10 am to 8 pm in the state.
However, these relaxations are not applicable to Covid-19 containment zones in Tamil Nadu.
As per the government, all the above relaxations should be followed with strict precautionary rules such as wearing masks, regular sanitizing and mandatory social distancing.
