716 more test Covid-19 positive, 8 deaths reported in TN
Tamil Nadu on Tuesday reported eight more deaths of coronavirus patients and 716 new cases, taking the southern state's total cases to 8,718, the Health Department said.

State capital Chennai continued to see the highest number of infections at 510, taking the total tally to 4,882.
After the eight deaths reported on Tuesday, the death toll in Tamil Nadu due to coronavirus had climbed up to 61.
The statement said 83 patients were cured and discharged from various hospitals, taking the total such cases to 2,134. The total number of active cases in Tamil Nadu now stands at 6,520.
A total of 11,788 samples were tested over the past 24 hours, which now total over 2.66 lakh.
The number of infected children in the age group 0-12 went up to 487.
