File report on setting up mobile testing booths: HC to govt
The Madras High Court has asked the government to inform it about the possibility of establishing mobile testing booths for COVID-19.

A division bench comprising Justice Vineet Kothari and Justice Pushpa Sathyanarayana was hearing a plea seeking to establish mobile testing booths approved by the ICMR in every district. Posting the plea to Wednesday as sought by the government pleader, the bench directed him to give a report on the number of testing kits available and the steps taken to procure more kits.
The petitioner had also sought to make RT-PCR testing free or charge only Rs 500 or less, and to form a committee to conduct tests on the homeless people. Meanwhile, the court ordered notice to the State on a plea seeking a direction to issue daily updated list containing number of positive cases, and people cured, under treatment, in quarantine and deceased in every Corporation, Town and Village panchayat.
The petitioner had alleged that the categorisation of red, orange and green zones in the State was not being done properly and sought a direction to issue daily updated list. The plea has been posted to May 12.
