The move by TRB to implement new measures in the recruitment pattern came against the backdrop of allegations and complaints that several malpractices took place in the recent teachers’recruitment.

A senior official from TRB told DT Next that a detail government order with regard to the new reforms would be issued shortly. Explaining about the new measures, the official said that most exams would be computer-based tests, which would be monitored by a software.

“We have successfully conducted computer-based test for recruiting block educational officers in the Elementary Education Department,” he said adding that apart from online exams, registration of applications has been tightened to prevent impersonation by the candidates. He said that the applicants should upload all the details in the registration form failing which the applications would be rejected without giving any reasons.

Stating that the candidates should have to upload their latest photograph, which would be verified when they appear for exams, the official said, “Bio-metric attendance for the candidates, who attend the test, will also be introduced. In addition, each candidate should produce valid identity card given by the government which may be Aadhaar card or passport, driving licence or electoral identity card.”

Pointing out that the candidates would be instructed to come to the exam venue two hours before the test begins, he said, “If the exams are conducted at 9 am, the candidates will have to come to the centre by 7 am.”

The official said that the evaluation of answers would also be done by the computer system and as well as manually so that all the deserved candidates would get chance. “Installation of CCTV in all the exam centres is also being planned,” he added.
