New move to facilitate farmer-officer interface

“Government will launch ‘Uzhavar-Aluvalar Thodarbu Thittam’ (meaning Farmers-officials linking scheme) to ensure closer interface of department officials with farmers. According to the scheme, the officials will give technical advice on farming operations, through people deployment of available staff. In addition to in-person field level interaction, information and communication technology will also be leveraged. Previously, state government has launched ‘Uzhavan’ app to increase the interaction of farmers with officials in providing technical assistance to farmers and the new scheme will further enhance the cooperation between the farmers and the officials.
