Leader of the Opposition Rangasamy along with functionaries distributed sweets and hoisted the party flag at the party headquarters here to mark the occasion.Speaking on the occasion Rangasamy said that the NR Congress could not win much seats in the 2016 Assembly elections. The Congress-DMK which came to power spoiled the Union Territory by stalling its development. People are fed up with the “worst” government here and are longing for a change.

The Congress-DMK government failed to fulfill any of the promises given by them and they are blaming the union government, Lt Governor and opposition parties for their lapses, he charged.

Even a ruling party MLA has revolted against the government and submitted a list of corruption of the government to the Lt Governor, he said.He charged that the government run liquor shops and petrol bunks are being made sick and selling to those close to the rulers by this government. During the NR Congress regime, the co-operative milk producers’ union was running in several crores profit, but, it is in several crores loss now. Same is the case with several other government institutions, he charged. Alleging that the government is not concerned with the people here, Rangasamy strongly condemned the move of the government to introduce casinos here to mop up revenue. Stating that the Chief Minister lost his governing capacity, Rangasamy said that ensuring development utilising his powers is called governing capacity.

In such a situation, Rangasamy exhorted the party cadre and functionaries to work hard to ensure an NR Congress government in Puducherry after the 2021 elections.
