Work well, goal must be 2021 win: DMK president MK Stalin

Your good works and easy approach with the people shall be a silent campaign that would ensure DMK’s victory in the upcoming polls, said DMK president MK Stalin among the newly elected local body representatives during the state-level conference organised by the party here on Friday.

Presiding over the conference in which around 2,500 local body representatives belonging to the party and independent members too part, Stalin urged them to have a clean approach with the people as it would be a score card for the party which would earn good name among them and it would help DMK in forming government 2021 Assembly polls.

“Go and work in such a way to ensure the people that they had elected the right persons to the post who would certainly help them. This is a silent campaign and it can only help the party during any elections,” Stalin urged the members.

Cautioning that AIADMK Ministers and MLAs would interfere in the local body administrative works and hinder their works, Stalin asked the members not to fall prey to their sugar-coated words. “They will never allow you to act independently and even promise you to offer a share and do not go hand in hand with them. They will swindle everything, leaving all the blame on you,” cautioned Stalin. “Be faithful to the voters and the party. DMK will certainly form government within a year and we shall do all possible good things to the people as we have promised,” Stalin said.

Meanwhile, Stalin asked the new representatives to interact with the people and take note of their demands. “We have already conducted gram sabha meeting in all 12,500 panchayats across the state and got the feedback as well as the grievances from the people and we should ensure to solve them at the earliest. Concentrate on basic amenities like drinking water, drainage, road and street light facilities as most of the villages are lacking in the state,” he said.

Stating that the tender for works would spoil the names, Stalin asked the members to be careful while calling for a tender. He also cautioned that the ruling party would give all sorts of troubles as they are not able to accept the victory of the party in local body polls. “Minister Karuppannan has already told that the DMK members would get less fund and do not worry, we will approach it legally and get the funds sanctioned as we have fought for the local body polls,” Stalin stressed.

Earlier, Stalin paid floral tribute to the portraits of Anna and M Karunanidhi at the meeting venue.
