The plan is based on an extensive survey and public feedback and talks are on with the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), to introduce the service, said Mysuru airport directorR Manjunath.

ā€œA meeting is scheduled with the KSRTC authorities next week after which the Flybus services are expected to be launched from the city airport to benefit tourists coming to Mysuru and planningto go to either Ooty or Madikeri,ā€ he added.

Manjunath stated that an arrangement was made with the KSRTC for a service to connect the city with the airport coinciding with the arrival of flights. As the Mysuru airport received traction under UDAN with 16 flights movements a day, both inward and outward, the security apparatus is set to be tightened up.

Reports state that the Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF) will be inducted to the airport and Pratap Reddy, ADGP (Internal Security), held a discussion with the airport authorities in Mysuru recently while Manjunath said that they expect about 50 KSISF staff to be deployed at Mysuru airport.

The airport has also procured a bomb suit to be worn while diffusing explosives.

The airport is already fully secure but the latest equipment are still being procured to handle any emergency, Manjunath said.
