Initially it was believed that the missing militants were holed up in Bangladesh. But after their arrest in Delhi on Thursday, police said that they reached the national capital from Nepal.

The police believe Mohamed Shameem, one of the missing fundamentalists, and his associate Thofeeq were involved in the murder of the Wilson. While the TN police were searching for the missing militants, the two of them, Khaja Moideen and Syed Ali Nawaz, travelled with Mohamed Haneef Khan and Imran Khan – two of the three Bengaluru Jihadi module members arrested on Wednesday - in an SUV by road to West Bengal border.

After leaving the Khaja Moideen and Syed Ali Nawas in West Bengal, the two had returned to Karnataka in the same SUV after travelling more than 4,000 km in four days.

The police sources noted that Mohamed Zyed - the third person arrested from Bengaluru – had helped Khaja Moideen have communication system in a laptop with end to end encrypted technology, which helped him have a secured communication, which cannot be intercepted or traced.

The three arrested from Bengaluru were not known to each other but were brain washed by Khaja Moideen about establishing an Islamic Caliphate in India.

It may be recalled that Khaja Moideen, his associates A Mohammed Shameem and N Syed Ali Nawaz, were arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of Hindu Munnani activist KP Suresh Kumar in the year 2014 in Ambattur.

All the three had vanished after coming out of jail on bail. Khaja Moideen was also said to be the chief of IS in Tamil Nadu and was arrested by NIA for his suspected links with the global terror outfit.
