Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the MNM’s regional headquarters in Tiruchy, the party president Kamal said, the party abstained from contesting in the local body elections after a discussion with the party office-bearers and we do not regret this.

“We are focussing on the 2021 Assembly elections and coming closer and closer to the people and so the future is ours,” he claimed. Feeling sorry that the votes are purchased by the politicians, Kamal said that the people should prepare themselves for voting without receiving any money. “We are travelling along with honesty and the people should also be prepared to practice that. Only then clean people would emerge to rule us,” he noted. Meanwhile, he criticised that the Dravidian parties in the state are not moving toward the right direction and each individual in the state should prepare themselves to move on the right direction.

Answering a question on the DMK and Congress accusing each other, Kamal said that they both contradict in many things. Responding to the Darbar dialogue issue, he commented that the right to expression is under threat even from the times of Parasakthi. Earlier, Kamal interacted with the party cadre in a closed door meeting.
