AIADMK govt attempting to stall LB poll results of DMK-combine winners, says Stalin

DMK President M K Stalin today alleged that the ruling AIADMK along with officials and police were conspiring and attempting to stall declaration of results of rural local bodies where DMK and its alliance parties have won.

Mr Stalin met State Election Commissioner R Palaniswamy this noon and complained about the alleged irregularities in the counting process.

Talking to reporters later, he said deliberate attempts were made to stall the declaration of results in wards where the candidates of DMK and its alliance partners have won.

"The State Election Commissioner spoke to officials in front of me and promised action'', he said.

He said ''if our demands are not met, we will decide whether to observe a fast inside the Election Commission office or to organise a protest across the State''.

He also said the DMK would consider moving the court.

He claimed that officials had either stopped counting of votes or refused to declare victories in places where DMK candidates were ahead of their rivals or had already won.

"Even in Chief Minster Edappadi K Palaniswami's (Assembly) constituency the results were held back'', he said and claimed that the DMK candidate won with a margin of 800 votes at Kolathur in Edappadi, but the result was not declared though the victory of AIADMK candidates in other places had already been announced.

Mr Stalin also alleged that similar was the case in Konganathapuram, Sangakiri and Edappadi, at Vathalakundu union in Dindigul district and Minjur union in Tiruvallur district.
