“In all the coaches attached to Chennai-Coimbatore Intercity expresses, the name boards of the places are written only in Hindi. Southern Railway should immediately remove the Hindi names in coaches and new coaches in Tamil should be attached to the trains,” said Ramadoss, in a tweet.

The usage of only Hindi and avoiding Tamil in railways has been an issue often raised by political parties in the state. Recently, the DMK opposed the usage of only Hindi and English in circulars issued by Southern Railway and after the issue was raised the Railways withdrew the circular.

Ramadoss also demanded the government to give salary and leave for women on the days of mensural cycle. “There is a shocking news revealed by a Maharashtra Minister that women labourers in the state remove their uterus to avoid leaves on the days of mensural cycles. To avoid women from getting involved into such a condition government should provide wages along with leaves for women on mensuration days,” demanded Ramadoss.
