Floral tributes paid to victims in Puducherry

Rich tributes were paid to the people who lost their lives in the 2004 tsunami here in the Union Territory on the 15th anniversary of the calamity on Thursday.

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, his Cabinet colleagues and legislators, among others, poured milk and flower petals near the Gandhi statue on the beach to mark the occasion. Fishermen of Vambakeerappalayam led by AIADMK legislature party leader A Anbazhagan took out a silent procession from Sonampalayam to the Dupleix statue and paid floral tributes. Further, tributes were paid at different places on the Puducherry coast on the occasion.
