Get fitness certificate for jallikattu bulls by Dec 28: Tiruchy Collector
Tiruchy: With just a few weeks left for the Pongal festival, bull owners and tamers across the state are undergoing hectic training for the upcoming season. Simultaneously, the organisers are also busy making preparations for the event and approaching officials seeking permission to hold the event in their respective areas.
Keeping in line with this, officials are also sending out advisories regarding the ‘dos and donts’ for the organising committees, bull owners and tamers.
In Tiruchy, the district administration officials have instructed all the bull owners to get their animals tested with government veterinary doctors and obtain fitness certificate for participation in the event.
According to official sources, Collector S Sivarasu has directed the officials of the revenue department across the district to expedite the enumeration of jallikattu bulls in the district. The collector also ordered the officials to strictly allow the bulls that have been certified by the government veterinarians after necessary check-up.
The district administration has set December 28 as the deadline for the owners to get their bulls tested with the government veterinarians and obtain the fitness certificate.
