VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan called the attack on students as state sponsored terrorism. “State sponsored terrorism is worse than communal violence,” said Thirumavalavan, in a tweet.


The VCK leader and the MP from Villupuram said that it would continuously protest against Citizenship Amendment Act which has excluded Muslims and Sri Lankan Tamils from the Citizenship Amendment Act.


Ever since the BJP led Centre introduced the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) and the Bill becoming an Act, the nation was witnessing continuous protests and the agitations turned ugly on Saturday and Sunday when students of Jamia Millia University and policemen clashed.


There was widespread furore across the country against the brutal attack on students. Politicians and activists in the state have also condemned the attack on students in Delhi.


Condemning the attack on students VCK staged protests in Puducherry on Monday.


VCK general secretary and MP D Ravikumar, who participated in the protest expressed solidarity with the students, who were protesting in Delhi, and condemned the attack on them.


MDMK leader Vaiko said, “There are several protests happening across the country against the Citizenship Amendment Actand Delhi is burning. The protests have reached Tamil Nadu too. If government is continuing to implement anti-people measures there will have to face serous consequences and a flurry of protests and at the time of centenary celebration of India’s independence it will not be a single country,” he said.


Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) staged protest condemning the attack on students.


They joined the group of students of Sadakathullah Appa College in Palayamkottai who staged protest on their campus.


SP Udayakumar, anti-nuke activist and founder of Pachai Tamilagam, said, “the Central Government with the help of police has unleashed violence against Jamia Millia University students in the national capital and it is highly condemnable..”


“Girl students who were hiding in toilets were beaten by police and harassed. RSS goons have joined police in attacking students,” the nuke activist added


He further said that India has a fluent culture and we are hospitable enough to welcome people from other regions and countries, but the Citizenship Amendment Act discriminates Muslims and treats them as second grade citizens.
