9 MoUs worth Rs 5,027 cr inked, over 20,000 jobs expected in TN

In a big push to attracting investments, nine MoUs to the tune of Rs 5,027 crore investments were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami here on Saturday.

The MoUs, which would create 20,351 jobs, were signed at the launch of the Investment and Skill Development Conclave, during which Palaniswami also inaugurated three MoU projects of US companies.


The three US companies were Kapisoft, Kloud Learn and ZL Technology which had signed the MoUs at the investors' meet at San Jose in the USA, during Palaniswami's recent visit to the US, the UK and Dubai to attract investments to the State.


Apart from launching three Apex Skill Development Centres at a cost of Rs 60 crore by the Chief Minister, MoUs for two new ITIs at a cost of Rs 28.43 crore were also signed at the event.


The Tamil Nadu Skill Gap Report and District Skill Development Plans were also released on the occasion, besides launching the new name and logo of TN Guidance Bureau and Biz Buddy -- a grievance redressal portal of industries.


Knowledge partnerships were also signed with the DRDO and IIT-Madrasfor TN Defence Industrial Corridor was also held onthe occasion.


CM appeals to make state HIV-free


Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday said awareness should be created among the public about HIV/Aids. In his message on the eve of World Aids Day, he said people of the State must take a vow to make Tamil Nadu HIV-free. "People should do regular blood check-ups and those who are affected by the virus should be properly taken care with love and affection.'' ''They should be given confidence,'' he said.
