Pondy schools to give 4 water breaks from November 25
In a bid to ensure that children drink adequate water in a day, the administration would introduce four water breaks in the schools from November 25.

Speaking at a meeting of correspondents and other officials of government and private schools on the issue here, District Collector T Arun said that all schools should follow uniform working hours as per the direction of the National Children Welfare Board (NCWB).
All classes, including special classes, would be between 8.30 am and 5 pm, he said.
The Collector said there are complaints that the students are not drinking adequate water in schools and parents complain that the water being taken to the school by the children in water bottles are returning as it is.
Hence, all schools should give four breaks for children to drink water from Monday next and four “water bells” should be there in schools, he added.
He also pointed out to the system was introduced in schools in Kerala.
