Inaugurating the MP’s office at Ariyalur, the VCK chief and MP from Chidambaram, told reporters that the SC/ST and women candidates should be given proper reservation in all the districts across the state. This would ensure the posts of vice-presidents for the SC/ST and women.

Meanwhile, the VCK chief demanded to eliminate the manual scavenging in the state and ensure strict action against those who force the people. He also urged the Centre to direct the state government to adapt the latest technology on the issue.

Charging that the courts have started giving verdict faster for the cases in favour of the government and delay the verdict in the cases against the government, Thirumavalavan said that the apex court that had given the verdict on the ownership of the disputed land had not pronounced the verdict against the accused in the case which made the people dejected, he said.

While several thousands of villages are not connected with good roads, the state government has been showing an extra ordinary interest on laying four and eight lane roads for the benefit of corporate firms, the VCK chief alleged.
