Tamil works to be translated into Hindi: Pondicherry University Vice-Chancellor
Stating that Tamil is one of the oldest language in the world and it has a rich culture, Pondicherry University (PU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Gurmeet Singh on Monday said that arrangements will be made to translate the classic works in Tamil to Hindi, so that the people in northern India will understand the richness of the Tamil language.

He was speaking at a function to felicitate posthumously late Ganavathy Amma (87), wife of the famous Tamil writer Ki. Rajanarayanan, former visiting professor in the Subramania Bharathi School of Tamil, according to a University release here.
Singh said Ki Rajanarayanan (97) is one of the oldest living legend in our country and he attended the function mainly to seek his blessings by him. Tamil actor Sivakumar, who attended the function compared Ganavathy Amma with Kannagi, Sathyavan Savithri, Nalayini and Jenny Marx. When a man crosses 50 years, he must consider his wife, as his second mother, he said.
Ganavathy Amma should be remembered by the Tamil Society for protecting Ki Rajanarayanan and for helping him to write Novels like ‘Gopalla Gramam’, ‘Gopalla Puraththu Makkal’ and Karisal Kaattu Kaduthasi’.
