HC orders interim closure of Tasmac outlet in Perambalur
The Madras High Court has ordered the interim closure of a Tasmac shop along with a bar on a road leading from Perambalur town to Muthu Nagar based on complaints that the outlet was causing nuisance and inconvenience to the locals.

A division Bench comprising Justice M Sathyanarayanan and Justice N Seshasayee directed the closure of the outlet till November 4 after holding that the rough sketch as well as the photographs submitted by the petitioner would prima facie disclose that drunkards sleep on the road after consuming liqour. The management has also failed to take any effective steps to remove the garbage generated by the shop, they said.
The Bench noted that a prima facie case has been made out for grant of interim orders, otherwise, the quality of life enshrined under Article 21 of the Constitution would definitely be affected.
The High Court Bench also held “This court, in matters of similar in nature, passed very many orders, as to the maintenance of the nearby places, in and around the Tasmac shops, in a neat, tidy and sanitary condition and that apart, they have also to ensure that there is no law and order problem is created and despite that, it is becoming a continuous menace.”
It may be noted that at the time of opening the shop in April 2017 there was a huge publicagitation and brushing aside the same, the shop was opened.
