State gives extension to Satyagopal
The state government, which set up the Tamil Nadu Water Resources Conservation and Rivers Restoration Corporation (TNWRCRRC) last year, has appointed retired IAS officer K Satyagopal as the new chairman of the corporation. A government release on Friday said that the chairman will prepare, implement and monitor all irrigation projects in the state.

The chairman will also supervise all kudimaramathu water works executed by the public works department.
The new corporation which will also focus on creating corpus through World Bank and the Nabard is likely to function from the Ezhilagam campus, which houses the headquarters of state Public Works department.
The newly formed corporation will work on the projects focussing on water conservation in the state and will also have a managing director, chief engineer and specialists in hydrology, state official sources said.
K Satyagopal, who devised the massive evacuation of public in delta districts during the 2018 Cyclone Gaja recently retired as the commissioner of state revenue administration and disaster management.
