PCC ward panels formed for Kamaraj Nagar campaign

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of undertaking election campaign here, Narayanasamy refuted the claim of the opposition parties that the Congress did nothing for the development of Puducherry and said that the law and order is under control now and the culprits who had committed crimes during the erstwhile NR Congress regime headed by former chief minister N Rangasamy, were being arrested now.

He said that notorious anti-socials are now in jail and only the second rung are out there now. They are accompanying Rangasamy in his election campaign, Narayanasamy alleged. It was a ‘murder regime’ during Rangasamy’s period, he alleged, adding that the Congress brought the situation under control and suppressed the anti-socials menace.

The Chief Minister said the opposition parties are supporting Lt Governor Kiran Bedi who blocked free rice for the people and added that the present Congress government is remitting the loan dues taken during the period of Rangasamy. Meanwhile, Rangasamy, Leader of the Opposition, during electioneering told reporters that Narayanasamy has no right to say that the opposition will vanish after the bypoll.

He said the Congress party itself is not stable and thisfact was admitted by its party leaders.

The former chief minister also charged that the law and order situation has deteriorated in the Congress tenure.
