Bigger study circles in employment offices

To assist fresh job seekers, the State employment wing had established study circles in all the district employment offices. These study circles, which are well equipped with libraries, will conduct regular classes for aspirants by inviting eminent faculties and experts in respective subjects to handle the coaching classes.

Sources from the Labour Department said the study circle would be expanded this year so as to benefit more students. The intake of the fresh graduates would be increased to 30,000 from the present 20,000. “Motivational talks by those who have cleared the competitive exams using the study circles will be organised to inspire the candidates,” a senior official from the department said.

He said mock tests and interviews would also be conducted to train the aspirants. “This year, we are planning to conduct coaching classes in weekdays,” he added. Of the 20,000 aspirants enrolled themselves in the study circle last year, 881 secured placements in government and public sector establishments after clearing the competitive exams.

The official added that the department would also set up coaching centres in Arts and Science colleges affiliated to the 10 universities.
