    Online process for social security schemes launched

    Revenue Minister RB Udhayakumar on Wednesday inaugurated an online application process for the beneficiaries of Tamil Nadu Social Security Schemes under which old age pension is given for destitute, widows and differently abled.

    Inaugurating the online facility at the commissionerate of revenue administration here, the Minister said that for the current fiscal the state has allocated Rs 4,000 crore to benefit the public under pension and other social security schemes. The new online process will help the new applicants to avoid the cumbersome process of approaching the revenue officials.  

    Under the new system, all the applications will be forwarded to revenue department for field verification and the tashildars will scrutinise the application thereafter passing final orders. The online system will bring in more transparency, said Udhayakumar. The state is ready to tackle the monsoon and all relief measures are in place, Udhayakumar said stating that most of the districts have received rains in the past one month with Coimbatore and Nilgiris receiving good amount of rainfall.
