Verdict against AIADMK-BJP alliance, hail Left parties

CPM state secretary K Balakrishnan, in a statement, said that voters have defeated the AIADMK-BJP alliance conspiracy to emerge victorious in Vellore by postponing the elections through money and muscle power. 

“The election should have been held for the Vellore seat along with other constituencies in April. Both the AIADMK and BJP conspired and cancelled the poll in Vellore. They dreamed that if the polls were held separately, they could win the election through money and muscle power. But Vellore voters have defeated the AIADMK-BJP conspiracy by electing the Secular Progressive Alliance candidate,” Balakrishnan said, adding that this election result has once again proved that Tamil Nadu people would not accept the communal BJP and anti-people AIADMK alliance.

CPI state secretary R Mutharasan said that DMK candidate Kathir Anand has emerged victorious in the Vellore Lok Sabha polls despite the ruling AIADMK using its full force with all the ministers, including the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister camping for the poll campaign. “Vellore voters have given a clear verdict and rejected opportunistic alliance of the AIADMK and BJP,” he said.

He thanked the voters for electing the DMK candidate and also to all the party functionaries who worked tirelessly for the victory.
