Aiming resurgence, AMMK to train its men
After facing a setback in the recent Lok Sabha and bypolls to the Assembly, the AMMK which faced migration of its party leaders to the rival AIADMK and DMK is now a course correction.
Chennai
According to AMMK sources, party general secretary TTV Dhinakaran has started addressing intra-party issues and is on a reorganisation spree. The party had also planned a training programme for speakers and spokespersons under which the party will give a nine-day training for the functionaries on issues that have to be highlighted and campaigned by the AMMK.
Training will be given to functionaries to focus on the U-turns made by the AIADMK on various state and national policies adopted by late leader J Jayalalithaa. The party high command had also warned its office-bearers to avoid friendship and direct contacts with the AIADMK functionaries, particularly Ministers.
“All the political parties in the state has faced losses in polls, but how the party resurges is most important. Our general secretary TTV Dhinakaran is clear about the long-term plans and his back to back district-wise meetings has created a new synergy among AMMK cadres,” said Sukumar Babu, south Chennai district secretary of the party.
New faces are joining the AMMK and our leader has started giving new strategies and ideas. Unlike the AIADMK, AMMK is now ready for the local body polls, Sukumar Babu claimed. “We are waiting for the registration of the party and new symbol.
Once the symbol is allotted by the Election Commission, the campaign against the state and Centre will be intensified,” the district secretary said. Our leader has given us district specific assignments to strengthen the party and in three months the resurgence will be visible, Babu claimed.
