Addressing a large gathering in support of Shanmugam, Panneerselvam said Stalin followed the precept that telling lies continuously would make people believe it as truth. He also tried to use the same tactics to topple the government, but was unable to achieve it, Panneerselvam added. He would not succeed in future too, he added.
Referring to the late chief minister J Jayalalithaa, he said, she had undergone many trials to ensure the safety of the party and the people of the state and it was this that led her to create schemes which met all people’s needs, he added. The love of people for the party had resulted in the AIADMK ruling the state for 27 years, he said and added that Stalin unable to bear this was resorting to various tricks to attain the CM’s chair.
Panneerselvam also recalled the various welfare measures provided for people by former chief ministers MG Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa.
Ministers KC Veeramani, Sellur Raju and Dindigul C Sreenivasan and former minister KP Munusamy were present during the meeting.
